Superhero Fun at Crossgates Shopping Centre

10th July 2017

Children in Crossgates unleashed their secret superpowers recently at Crossgates Shopping Centre’s Superhero Skills workshop.

To celebrate little local heroes and the launch of the new Wonder Woman film, Crossgates Shopping Centre’s kid’s club hosted a free workshop where children were able to learn superhero themed magic tricks and skills.

A free facepainter was also on hand to transform little ones into their favourite superhero characters, whilst shoppers posed for #superselfies at the centre’s selfie station, for a chance to win £50 worth of cinema vouchers.

Representatives from Connecting Crossgates supported the fun family event by encouraging people to enter the competition by taking their #superselfies whilst also raising awareness of their cause.

Connecting Crossgates develops opportunities to express love for others in practical ways within the Crossgates community such as through their paired reading scheme.

Karen Gray of Connecting Crossgates commented: “It’s vital that we raise awareness for the organisation in order to bring local people together. We are motivated by faith, hope and love which really shone through the superhero event.”

Centre Manager at Crossgates Shopping Centre, Matt Middleton, said: ”Our fantastic local community is filled with superheroes and they were certainly out in force for our activities.

“We are also grateful to have had Connecting Crossgates supporting us. The group is at the heart of our community and it was a pleasure to help them raise awareness of the aim to bring Crossgates together through friendship, openness and honesty.”
