Shopping Centre announces the launch of Leeds’ newest child model search after collaborating with leading modelling agency

15th July 2019

Your child could be the next face of Next or John Lewis thanks to a new child model search being launched by an East Leeds shopping centre.

Hundreds of parents are expected to enter their children into the QT competition being launched by Crossgates Shopping Centre and Mentor Model Agency, one of the UK’s leading child model agencies.

Entry is free and the competition is open to anyone from new-borns to 13-year olds. The competition will be split into three categories: 0-24 months, 2-5 year olds and 6-13 year olds.

One child from each of the three age categories will be chosen to be represented by Mentor Model Agency for at least 12 months. The contract includes a free portfolio photoshoot which will be displayed on the agency’s website for the duration of the contract.

Mentor Model Agency’s client list includes the likes of JD Sports, John Lewis, Lego, Tessuti, Next, Mamas & Papas, and Footlocker to name a few.

Josephine Webster, Director at Mentor Model Agency, said: “We are delighted to be working with Crossgates Shopping Centre to discover new modelling talent in Leeds.

“The winners could go on to work with some of the most high-profile fashion brands in the industry.

“Competitions like these are a great platform to start a modelling career and are always really popular.”

Whilst it is the first event of its kind at Crossgates, centre manager Matthew Middleton is confident the competition will be a busy one.

He said: “We are extremely excited to launch QT at Crossgates. It’s a completely new concept for us and it provides our shoppers with a great new opportunity.

“We’re expecting a high volume of entries for the event, we’ve had lots of interest already and we’re the only place in the area to be offering this kind of thing.

“I am confident it will be a success, but ultimately as long as people have fun that’s the main thing.”

People can bring their children to be photographed on Monday February 18 and Tuesday February 19, between 10am and 4pm.

The photography will take place in the centre square at Crossgates, located outside of Wilko.
