Parish member builds bespoke nativity scene in support of church group
2nd December 2019
A bespoke nativity scene has been built by an anonymous benefactor for an East Leeds shopping centre to ensure it can continue supporting a local church group.
Crossgates Shopping Centre has funded a brand-new crib in support of Churches Together after the centre could not accommodate the charities structure last year.
The display, which has been hand crafted by a member of the Parish on behalf of Churches Together in East Leeds will be displayed from December 1 for visitors to enjoy.
Matthew Middleton, regional manager of Crossgates Shopping Centre, says he is extremely grateful to the craftsman who was able to build the bespoke nativity scene to suit the centre’s needs.
He said: “Crossgates Shopping Centre has supported Churches together for over a decade and it was important to us to be able to continue this work.
“I am delighted we have been able to accommodate a nativity scene at the centre this year as it is something our visitors really enjoy.”
Churches Together are pleased this crib is now better suited to the centre. It means they can continue collecting money in the centre as they have done for the last ten years.
A spokesperson for the group said: “We sincerely thank the generosity of our anonymous benefactor, the centre’s management team and retailers who are so supportive of this cause.”
