Kids Get Crafty

9th March 2016

Crossgates hosted a Mother’s Day Craft Workshop event on Saturday 5th March, during which little ones painted tea towels which could then be taken home to give to mum.

The fun event gave them the chance to try their hand at creative techniques onto fabric using sponges, brushes, spray paints, pens and crayons. All materials were provided and supervisors gave help and guidance.

It was great to see lots of happy families turning out to get crafty. All the tables at the workshop were filled, with 125 children taking part in the activities. Tots produced some colourful creations and the event proved to be a great opportunity for the ‘grown ups’ to spend quality time with them.

Alongside the workshop, the centre ran a Facebook competition encouraging people to like and share a graphic publicising the event, with the chance to win a £50 to spend at the centre.

“Our Mother’s Day themed craft workshop event was a great success and gave children the chance to demonstrate their creative talents. There were some beautiful tea towels produced on the day and we’re sure there were plenty of happy mums receiving them as gifts on Sunday!”
