Children Enjoy Crafty Spring Fun

11th April 2016

Crossgates hosted a Spring Craft Workshop event on Wednesday 6th April, during which little ones decorated wooden bird boxes that they could take home and keep.

The fun event gave them the chance to try their hand at creative painting techniques onto wood using brushes, pens, crayons, accessories and more. All materials were provided and supervisors gave help and guidance.

Happy Families

It was great to see lots of happy families turning out to get crafty. All the tables at the workshop were filled, with over 150 children taking part in the activities – the most participants we’ve ever had a craft workshop event!

“We were thrilled with the popularity of our Spring Craft Workshop event! Children demonstrated some amazing artistic abilities and the completed bird boxes where incredibly impressive. We look forward to hosting similar events in the centre during months to come.”

Matthew Middleton, Crossgates Centre Manager

Tots produced some chirpy bird boxes on the day and the event proved to be a great opportunity for parents and carers to spend quality time with their children.

Competition Winners

Alongside the craft event, Crossgates ran a Facebook competition encouraging people to like and share a graphic publicising the event, with the chance to win £50 to spend at the centre.

Joanne Henderson was our competition winner and chose a £10 Peacocks gift card and a £40 New Look gift card as her prize. She was presented with her gift cards at the centre management office on Thursday 7th April.
